Why should your company be in Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn?

Social Media is likely new in your business vocabulary. You may be wondering, "what does this phrase actually mean and why is it important for my business?" "And what differs of traditional media social media?" It has changed the face of advertising and new opportunities have arisen. We are now advertising and networking in a different social form (rather than to the masses through television, radio or print), called "social". The three legs of current social media for businesses or professionals are: twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. I will discuss how companies can use these sites to gain exposure and build relationships.

1) What should my business on Twitter be? A reason for your business on Twitter is to put your name in front of others on a daily basis. Twitter is for those who have a message to share and as a base to see that message on a daily basis a number of readers. For example, authors and consultants can share tips and knowledge to help them gain credibility and put your name in front of his followers regularly. Organizations and charities can share information about upcoming events and fundraising. Store retailers can announce upcoming auctions and special. It can offer a discount on their products for all your Twitter followers. Send links to your Web site for your event or your YouTube video ads. Note that tweets can be only 140 characters. If you want to include a URL address long in your tweet, use TinyURL.com to link the condensate. Accumulation of the number of followers you have and the number of people that are following - this will help you establish credibility. Create a name appropriate (and short) account and understand that it has already had many names. This name will become its URL. Your profile and your tweets can be made public or private by adjusting the settings. Configure your profile to private allows you to approve or reject each person that would like to follow you. Otherwise, anyone who would like to follow your tweets you can do so.

(2) What should my business on Facebook be? Compilation of "fans" is the way to publicize your business and allows you to collect a base of people that supports it. All fans will have your company name appears on your profile. Fans can also send comments on the page which is a way to contact you or give feedback about their services. If you have an ice cream shop, it would be beneficial to have people in your community become fan of your shop. Can also send comments about how much they like ice cream - excellent advertising you do not need to do something! This will create a "buzz" that can be achieved only a social media site. You can also create a group for your company and invite your friends and colleagues to join. You can send messages with announcements of events or special offers. Note: Keep a personal page is also a good way to keep in touch with your business contacts and get references. For those who were at the University for the arrival of Facebook (when it was only open to students with a.edu e-mail account), who wish to keep it as a personal account to share pictures and messages with friends and not use it for purposes of professional networks. In this case, LinkedIn is the perfect alternative.

(3) Why should I be on LinkedIn? All professionals must have a LinkedIn profile. It is your resume online, showing its current position, previous positions, interventions by the community, awards, education and the image. (Note that it is not necessary to expose information in all these categories). Build the network within the community of LinkedIn by adding "connections". In most cases, your profile will be the first item that is displayed when your name is spelled in a Google search. They have a LinkedIn profile establish its credibility, show professionalism and allow connections to obtain additional information about you. There are many other beneficial features such as state updates that allow you to publish what is underway at the time. This puts you in touch with their connections so that otherwise might not experience. You can also ask the connections to write a recommendation that appears in your profile. This is a big bonus is free for your own personal brand advertising. You can also create a group for your business or cause in LinkedIn and invite others to join. Posting and sending advertisements updates are a great way to stay connected and transmit information to the members of the group. You can also poll some idea group or start a discussion on a topic thread. LinkedIn provides many options for the professional user.

Social media accounts of contributing to its reputation online - make yours positive. Be creative, get and stay connected!

UnMarketing: Stop Marketing. Start Engaging.

From one of the leading experts in viral and social marketing-market your business effectively to today's customers
For generations, marketing has been hypocritical. We've been taught to market to others in ways we hate being marketed to (cold-calling, flyers, ads, etc.). So why do we still keep trying the same stale marketing moves?
UnMarketing shows you how to unlearn the old ways and consistently attract and engage the right customers. You'll stop just pushing out your message and praying that it sticks somewhere. Potential and current customers want to be listened to, validated, and have a platform to be heard-especially online. With UnMarketing, you'll create such a relationship with your customers, and make yourself the logical choice for their needs.
  • Shows how to create a mindset and systems to roll out a new, 21st century marketing approach
  • Marketing expert Scott Stratten focuses on a Pull & Stay method (pulling your market towards you and staying/engaging with them, leading them to naturally choose you for their needs) rather than Push & Pray
  • Redefines marketing as all points of engagement between a company and its customers, not just a single boxed-in activity
Traditional marketing methods are leading to diminishing returns and disaffected customers. The answer? Stop marketing, start UnMarketing!
Seven Deadly Social Media Sins to Avoid
Amazon-exclusive content from author Scott Stratten
The thing that makes me shake my head the most in the world of social media is the fact that we try to over-complicate it. Although the tools may be new and virtual, nothing has changed.
People do business first with those they like, know and trust. Social media is as simple as looking at it as a networking event without the need to drive there or the chance of getting cornered by the "creepy guy with scotch." It's about connection and conversation. Even if you don't believe that, it's a heck of a listening tool to see what your target marketing/customers/competitors are talking about. If I offered you a tool 10 years ago that allowed you to do what social media does today, you would have paid $20,000 a month to access it and today it’s free.
So just try to avoid these seven deadly social media sins, and you'll do just fine:
Gluttony
Everyone wants a truckload of followers, a mass-amount of Facebook fans, and a LinkedIn rolodex of thousands. But, especially if you're just starting out, trying to be everything everywhere at once will only dilute your presence and not allow for any momentum. Pick one social media platform and live there first. Build up your presence. Once you get comfortable and feel you have a good audience, then expand to a second one.
Sloth
Checking your Twitter account once a month won't cut it. Trying to have presence on Facebook without being present is a surefire way of having your page taken over by spammers. If you're going to jump into the social media pool, you need to have consistent presence. If you only can commit five hours a week to it, it's better to spend it 45 minutes every day than 5 hours once a week. If it takes you longer to reply to a tweet than it would to mail a letter, you're doing it wrong.
Greed
Social media isn't a new medium to try to push ineffective old marketing messages. It truly is a different world. People are there to build relationships, not buy your stuff (initially). Setting up an automated Twitter program to tweet for you and automatically add followers is a great way to say to people "We don't actually care what you're saying, just buy from us." It would be like sending a mannequin to a networking event with your company logo on it. Yeah, creepy.
Wrath
One of the nice things about social media is its casual, conversational nature. The problem is sometimes people let their guard down and remove their filter. Never say anything in social media that you don't want to see on a billboard with your name, logo, face, and phone number attached, with your client/boss/mother driving by. Google never forgets and social media updates are indexed rather quickly. This has nothing to do with "free speech" but more "what do I want my brand to be associated with."
Lust
I know last weekend in Vegas was "the bomb" because you made out with a "hottie" and you were "so drunk" you threw up in your shoes, but I'm not sure we all need to know that. And inviting me to your Facebook group on how to tone my buns is flattering and all, but remember to try and be professional, at least when it comes to a topic like this. Being human is awesome, being perverted isn't.
Envy
Looking at Lady GaGa having millions of Twitter followers is not going to help your self-esteem when you only have 40. Don't compare your fans/followers/connections count to other organizations. You don't know how engaged they are with them (the more important trait) and you don't know how they got to that number. Focus on creating quality connections, make great content, and your audience will grow organically.
Pride
There is nothing wrong with being proud of your upcoming teleseminar that may be a disguise for a pitch fest. There is something wrong when you post the notice about it on my Facebook wall, my company wall, and send it as a direct message. It's social media spam and it needs to stop. Even worse is tagging people just so they'll think it's about them and they will come look, or inviting your entire Facebook network to your event in San Jose tomorrow night when most live so far away, they would never come. Take a little bit of time and target event invites.

Twitter Tips from the Author
Driving Followers to the Mall
Look through my timeline, and you’ll see lots of different kinds of tweets. You’ll see links to my blog posts. You’ll see replies to my followers. You’ll see my opinions on politics, gaming, and social media. You’ll even see the odd quote that I’ve thrown in for fun and to spark some comments.
What you won’t see are tweets that tell people they should be buying my products. That’s not what I use Twitter for. I prefer to use it to build a brand and a community. In time, that will bring me more loyal customers and more sales overall. I can already see it happening in the number of visitors to my blog and the type of comments those visitors leave. But that doesn’t mean you can’t use Twitter to drive direct sales.
You can, but you have to follow a number of simple rules:
Don’t do it too often. A special offer once a week is plenty. More than that, and you’ll start to look like a commercial Twitter timeline rather than a personal one. That will reduce the number of your users.
Make the offers really special. Time-limited offers and discount coupons make followers feel that they’re being rewarded for reading your tweets. Being part of an exclusive club is a powerful motivator to keep reading.
Keep the offers targeted. People will follow you for all sorts of reasons. They might have seen your Twitter URL on your blog. They might have seen a reply to you in someone else’s timeline. Or they could have read one of your re-tweeted messages to name just three.
They’ll stick around because they find your tweets interesting and entertaining.
With a group of followers that could be quite varied, the temptation might be to make offers for any products you can think of. If someone offers you an interesting-looking joint venture, you might want to mention it on Twitter, offer a discount code, and see if anyone bites. You could do that, and some people might bite. However, if your keep your offers closely-targeted to your specialized subject—whatever that subject might be—you’ll continue to come across as an expert, and because your trust levels on that topic will be higher, your conversion rates should be higher too.
Don’t link to a sales page without a special offer. Although Twitterers understand that companies are using the site for branding and marketing, they don’t want to feel that they’re being pushed into buying. If the tweets are interesting and entertaining, then followers will be happy to read them.
In fact, they’ll enjoy them and they’ll see the company as having its finger on the pulse, as a firm that feels that it’s part of their community and that knows how to follow the community’s rules. Companies that are seen to view followers as nothing more than walking moneybags, though, aren’t going to pick up followers. They’re actually more likely to lose followers who were once customers.
Link directly to a sales page without making the follower feel that they’re receiving special treatment, and you create the impression that you really want to sell, not tweet.
Usually, the best way to drive followers to buying pages is to use the strategies we’ve seen already: Create entertaining tweets, and throw in occasional special offers that appear to reward followers while avoiding the appearance of a hard sale—or even that you’re marketing.
There is one exception though. A number of timelines have turned up on Twitter that take exactly the opposite approach. They’re a bit like Darren Rowse’s Twitterfeed account: They provide just one type of tweet and followers know exactly what they’re getting.
In this case, they’re getting nothing but special offers. Once in a while, MomsWhoSave (@momswhosave) will toss in a personal tweet. But it’s mostly discounts and coupon codes for its 8,375 followers.

Which sites Social Marketing social media & You Use - and why?

If you could find a way to navigate through the maze of social media and social networking sites and use them to promote your business online, would you try them? Most people would like, but the sheer volume of sites can be intimidating. In this article shall be share the results of a survey online social media and social networking site users, and why these people use each site.

Sites mentioned were: Ryze, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Plurk, YouTube, TubeMogul, Blip.TV, Flickr, FriendFeed, Utterli, StumbleUpon, TrafficGuyser, Ecademy, Xing, SocialMedian and MySpace. For the sake of the time, we will focus on sites that several people use and were free.

1) Twitter (statistics): was the winner with the most people using. Not only is the tool simpler and less threatening to use, has many other ramifications that can make easier the use. There are twitter-based sites that let you load video (Twiddeo) and images (TwitPic) and post it on Twitter. You can search through jobs (search.twitter) and (Twellow) people and search topics and experts to follow.

That people likes most about Twitter is how short positions are and how clean interface. There are really only two things to do: write a post and read articles from other people. Only type 140 characters, so you don't have to panic about what to write envelope - will make almost any nugget of information. You can also respond to "tweets other people" and participate in discussions.

Above all, people like the immediacy of Twitter. You can view up to the second is doing around the world are watching. For someone like me, that works virtually and rarely go to others, helps me feel less isolated and more connected. Twitter I recommend to all my clients and newbies especially social, because it is the easiest media use and them connected to others immediately gets.

(2) (Facebook.com) Facebook: Facebook can be a little more intimidating. It has a lot of options and can be overwhelming for beginners. However, for people who is not afraid to venture in, or who are comfortable with the landscape online, this was the site of serious network # 1. Even distributes (reprint) all your posts on Twitter, which is very pleasant to kill two birds with one stone.

People mention learned much more about your business on Facebook than LinkedIn contacts. You can extract in Twitter Feed and their blog entries, so it offers more than a story of what is happening in your life (rather than limited to 140 characters only). You may also have so many friends "specific" as possible (considering that only now can continue up to 2,000 people on Twitter).

You can also create and join groups of Facebook, you can connect with people who have similar interests or which may be a potential target market. Avoid "bomber" type programs that enable contact with strangers 50 or 100 a day automatically - people will think it is spam, and can be blocked at the site.

(3) (LinkedIn.com) LinkedIn: LinkedIn was mentioned several times. Mentioned as a place where people were more professionally mentality, while other sites may be much more casual and talk about things other than business. I like LinkedIn for your responses - area you can post a question to enable everyone to respond or you can answer the question of another person. It is a great way to make visible and share their experience.

(4) YouTube (YouTube.com): Won for social media due to the volume of traffic site pure. However, just because it is posted on YouTube does not mean that a lot of people we are. They have many videos, the video may be just a drop in the bucket. So using good keywords when you post the video will help you attract people who might be interested in the topic.

(5) TubeMogul (TubeMogul.com): TubeMogul is a site that lets you upload a video once and then publish it to multiple sites video (including YouTube) at the same time. Personally, I found that it is the most powerful tool for online visibility. Many times, I will publish a video through TubeMogul and I am on the first page of Google the next morning for my keywords.

It is something similar to the TrafficGuyser, except that you don't have to pay $100 for use - TubeMogul is free. You need to register in other social media sites in order to publish them, but is definitely worth the penalty time to get it done.

(6) Ping.fm: I want to add ping.fm to this list, since many people are not aware of it. Similar to TubeMogul, allows you to send messages of text of 140 characters to multiple social networking sites at once. Once again, you need to register for individual social networking sites, but is worth the investment of time to do so. Post to Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, MySpace, WordPress blogs, Blogger blogs and more - all free.

(7) Utterli: I mention Utterli because it is the site easy to use audio only load. Everything else uses the video. Therefore if you have recordings of teleclass, podcasts, testimonies of audio, etc. and would like to publish them online, Utterli allows you to load it and grab an audio player to publish on its web site.

My recommendation for novices would be to start with Twitter to get your feet wet and see how social networks work. Then I would suggest that you register for ping.fm and other social networks that jobs sites. In this way, when you post something, hear visibility online rather than simply publish a site.

Then sign up for TubeMogul and begin to create short videos to post on their related sites - this will give you the assistance of incredible search engine ranking. Videos must not be fantasy or long. Simple, to the extent and filled with practical advice is the best type do. Use a video slideshow maker to turn a powerpoint into a video presentation, or use a webcam to share certain information.

Most importantly, just jump in and start using social media and social networking sites. They are the most efficient and least costly way to promote your business online.

Using social media as a marketing - tool to join the conversation!

If solitary and anda company where you get - most beloved boozer their locality or laundry? Companies yearn too - the company, the company customers and potential customers. Traditional marketing is like going to the laundry. But social media marketing is a full entertainment knees-up. Type of.
'Using social media as a marketing tool'. 1: Social media are telly listings in the newspaper rates
Above the line advertising is suffered expensive, and anyway takes it is always an issue - to an audience that, for best of all, that you had rather not bothered. A bit like the grumpy old midwife in the laundry that eyes you upwards and downwards disapprovingly your entry - before that she had seen her moderately to heavily soiled laundry.
'Using social media as a marketing tool'. 2. At a party shout or talk?
Social media Marketing is not an issue, but a conversation with people you like and that like you. As being in a pub lovely, lovely people... Besides the odd idiot, of course.
The animals have been chatting from just after the Big Bang. Fact. Probably. A time, in any case has passed. Conversation. Say the word aloud. It is what they do, especially women. Fortunately for traders, men also like to chat - online.
If you as a business is not participating in these discussions, then, you have a corporate death wish, or just slow in exploring the benefits of Web 2.0 for your business. Don't wait too long, or competitors will begin to heads of your customers as soon as by involving them in conversations that you must have.
'Using social media as a marketing tool'. 3 It is good to talk
Sites like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Flickr are becoming increasingly numerous and popular. With blogs, are now part of the fabric of modern life. And supporters of note, such audiences really not respond at all well advertising. Check out this report by world leader, IDC market research media group. What is the point of spending a fortune on marketing strategies that simply don't work? People have always valued the conversation, but it is until comparatively recently the only means of conversing were phones and human contact direct. Email, IM, SMS and forums were liberating principles of our innate need to connect with others. Blogs, Twitter, Facebook et al have now released us correctly and not there are back-up. We have never been more connected as a race, and if your business is disconnected, then where this leaves him? Not talking is not an option for business.

What is the best site of social media to market for and why?

One of the hottest, biggest phrases that occurs around these days in the world of online marketing is social media marketing. Basically, this type of marketing revolves around to using media to market their products and nothing more Web sites. Social media sites are Web sites such as YouTube, Twitter and Facebook-sites that incorporate are designed to be used primarily for social reasons. These sites are immensely popular and thus represent a vast market to leverage to sell and spread the word about your goods or services. Facebook has emerged as probably the best to announce social media sites in for a couple of different reasons.
-First and foremost, Facebook has the most users of social media sites. In recent count, Facebook has more than 500,000 users. This is an incredible rate of growth, taking into account the fact that the site is only a few years. Now a few hundred thousand new users are signing for Facebook every day. With so many people in one place, it is not surprising that Facebook represents such a marketing Avenue lucarative.
-Not only are there many different people on Facebook, but they represent a really diverse audience. There is a proverb which says there that everyone is on Facebook, and this is not so far from the truth. Facebook is available, translated into over 100 different languages, is popular abroad, as well as in America and is represented by people in almost all countries.
-There are also many of both sexes in Facebook, unlike many markets that often are divided along gender lines. In fact, the majority of American women is on Facebook; somewhere near 80% of women.
-More than half of the people who spend money and buy things online have a Facebook profile. Not only is there just a bunch of people on Facebook that represent a broad demographic, but it is also probable that people that they are really ready, willing and able to spend some money online.
While these numbers could only be statistics, when it comes to seem well translate success using the social network marketing site. For example, consider Michael Stelzner, who created the publication called social media browser. Decided to market it only using Facebook and similar social media sites and decided not to invest time, energy or money to promote it through more traditional means of marketing. Their experiment was a wild, resulting in more than 100,000 subscribers in its first month status of operation and number one blogs in Technorati business success.
Target also is a big fan of using Facebook to market themselves. Began marketing on Facebook before most people, sometime in 2007. Their efforts have been a great success, resulting in a direct jump 6% directly resulting sales efforts on Facebook. Other companies have seen similar success and even more, such as Gallery desert in Houston. They were able to increase its direct visits by 20% due to Facebook, and people who find your site on Facebook tends to spend around 33% more than your average customers.

Twitter, Facebook and linked, Oh My

These days, I imagine that if Dorothy was lost in the jungle which is what she would say Internet as she skipped down the yellow brick road trying to find social networking sites. Similar to a party or event, social networks are the Act meeting and engaging with people with a slight difference is in a virtual environment. Web sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Linked In, Friend Finder, You Tube and much, much more there is to creating an environment for people who share a common interest to meet and discuss these interests.
Also provides an environment for sharing information, pictures and news is happening. From a business perspective, provides a new way to attract customers, monitor customer feedback and provide an online meeting area centralized to participate and market too much at once. Social media and networking sites are not a fad and eventually it will be an integral part of business, service, sales, marketing, and customer, and if not involved in it now you are, you need to get started immediately! Here are some tips to get started with social networking.
1 Get Started: the best way to begin is simply sign up and follow along.
-If you are joining Twitter - select a few people to follow and see what is said, that is after, and when you're comfortable, participate in the conversation.
-To Facebook, register and search for "friends". It is likely that there are tons of people you know and Facebook will help you to find and begin making connections in your name. It is the great thing, you get the option of accepting the invitation to a friend or simply ignore it and no one will know.
-Linked In, sign up and "connect" with partners, family and friends by sending an invitation to connect. Since it is a professional networking site, you will keep your tone and its professional messages. Find partners and send them an invitation to connect.
2 Writes a great profile and include an image: social networking is connecting and networking. Be sure to include the image and write a powerful profile. Each social networking site has its own need for how much you can write, write and can and make it interesting. Include items that people can relate to and that people can participate in conversation with you, but be cautious. Same rules apply when unknown meeting, not to disclose too much personal information, and always use common sense.
3 Participate. If you sit in the corner in a party and not speak to anyone, is not networking. Most of these sites centered around a theme "what are you doing now?" and depending on the site has a limited number of characters to be included in a text message to answer that question. Comment on thoughts, messages and ideas of others. A question and see what response you get. Look at photos, web links and blog that people points too and provides feedback entries. Join groups and participate in forums for questions and answers.
4 Make the time commitment. Networks and relationships are built over time, so you will have to undertake to invest in the growth of the network. This is not something that you can rarely and requires a level of commitment to truly maximize the results, but beware, social media is addictive and can take as long if you let it. Schedule a few hours a day at intervals to participate.
5 Post often and more frequent. How often should I submit? It is a question I often get depressed and my answer is, everything depends on. On Twitter, he is expected to send short messages about what is doing a couple of times a day, but is not the same expectation for Facebook and LinkedIn. Usually publish a few times a week on Facebook and Linked In. Posting to the forums for questions and answers frequently and I always provide comments and feedback to people I'm connected with all sites.

Using social media as a marketing - tool systematically

We all know Twitter, Google and Facebook by now.
But when you hear every day how people are using social media as a marketing tool, and especially the Google / Facebook / Twitter triad, what does it mean? What do these services tangibly deliver to your small business? What are the things you can do today to start benefiting from these free (or cheap) marketing tools that are so powerful, yet confusing and elusive for so many? What should you ignore?
The Background Stories [This section is for those who really don't know about social media sites. Feel free to skip to the Action Items section below if you don't need or want the full description.]
Twitter
What is it? An "immediacy" tool - Twitter helps gain clients, but mostly it helps keep them interested, with short bulletin-board like messages about what's happening right now in your world. People subscribe to your bulletin board, or perhaps even search through it for words and phrases that interest them. You can also advertise your posts to other like-minded subscribers easily. Twitter is a great way to see what is happening right at the moment with someone or a business, because it is meant to be continually updated with short messages. Twitter's gift to the world is the cheap and flexible ability to create immediacy, and to communicate up-to-date information easily to one or millions with short messages. Twitter can "feed" your messages to almost any other website as well, as soon as you send them.
How can it help me? It can be used so many ways. When the Mumbai bombings occurred in November 2008, Twitter gave me real time information coming onto my phone about the awful happenings there. On a separate occasion, I opened up an account for a friend's business and watched the subscriber list go into the thousands - quickly. This is great, even if you don't know about the quality of these leads, per se. You can extend Twitter to all your website pages as well. Well we will show you in detail how to do that, and how to subscribe to relevant lists of similar interest subscribers as well. You can also use it for customer service - for example, direct people to your Twitter page for daily updates to your product, if you see questions coming in. Have customers subscribe to your Twitter page, make it look pretty and relevant to your business, and you have instant street cred, and a potentially huge new avenue for customers to interact with you.
Facebook
What is it? A great way to collect a long-term following. However, it is not hard to set up a page exclusively for your business, called a Facebook "Page", and to drive your Facebook friends to it, and then to your website to buy your stuff. You can also connect Twitter feeds to Facebook, to make it easy for clients to see what you're doing in the place they feel most comfortable. Set up is easy - I have had limited success with actually pulling in more customers, as opposed to Twitter which is like a magnet for people, comments, and a bit of randomness thrown in for good measure.
How can it help me? In a nutshell, it is a place where millions of people (and increasingly everything, from your dog to your business) share with friends their pictures, and the details of their lives that they wish to share, including their affiliations, affections, and interests. Perhaps most importantly, it is a medium to openly discuss their opinions and comments about everyone else's pictures and details and stories as well. You give permission to your "friends" to see what you want them to see. Businesses also have pages that people can visit and subscribe to, and many companies have games that people can also subscribe to. Once you join and have a few friends you will be invited to become "friends" with other people (usually who you know), or perhaps to become a "fan" of all manner of items, which you are free to join or ignore. Making money with Facebook has been a challenge for many, but as an advertising platform, it is promising, since you can build a small advertisement for your business and promote it to people you know, and those they know. This is a relationship deepening tool - Facebook can help you learn much more about the people you interact with. And like the others, you can link to Twitter.
Google Buzz
What is it? There are many intersecting Google services, but today we are discussing social media tools. Twitter and Facebook rule at the moment, but Google Buzz should also be considered, as it will most likely have the benefit of connection to all the other amazing Google services out there... especially for mobile users. It's just not quite ready for the big time yet. Keep it on your radar - this service changes nearly every day.
How can it help me? While the service is redundant to Twitter and Facebook at the moment, and not yet available on Google Apps (only Gmail), I believe the integration of GPS, iPhone-like devices, and Buzz will have a dramatic effect on retailers - imagine being able to advertise your products instantly, for free, to interested people near you? That type of thing is coming with Buzz, even if not yet available. And like the others, you can link to Twitter.
LinkedIn
What is it? A social networking site for you with your "business face" on. This is basically a place to put your live resume, and a place to interact with, and connect to, business people. If Facebook is a casual environment, mostly for friends to connect their personal lives, then LinkedIn is a more serious environment, built exclusively for business. And like the others, you can link to Twitter.
How can it help me? Is your business on LinkedIn? I use both Facebook and LinkedIn for my businesses, because my personal life is closely connected with my business life. If you are someone with a more traditional casual/formal split between your personal and business lives, however, you may find this an interesting tool to use on its own, rather than connected to the others. A question to ponder on your own.
Hootsuite
What is it? A wonderful application that ties (most of) the above services together. Trust me, just sign up and use it. You will love it once you're set up.
How can it help me? This is a "write-once, run-anywhere" application. You bring all of your social media accounts together on one page (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and more), write an update, press send, and all sites are instantly updated.
Extras: There are plenty of how-to articles I like for learning more about social media services, plus other interesting and popular services such as XING, say if you are Europe-based. If you haven't used these services yet for your business, you should get moving for more traffic to your site and to deepen the relationships you already have.
Action Items: Sign up and start using social media to promote your business.
With all social media services, the ultimate goal is to let the mob do the work for you. A horrible analogy is the viral one... you create the disease and then it multiplies like a virus from one place to the next. But you get the idea... plant the seed, help the dandelion grow, and place it in a windy corridor to blow the seedlings all over to grow new ones.
Twitter
Go to Twitter. Sign up for an account. Upload an image. In Settings, choose your user name, password, and site design. You are now ready to subscribe to Tweets. Click Find People. Search, or let Twitter search for you.
Facebook
Go to Facebook Pages http://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php and create a new "page" for your business. Click on the Question Mark and upload an image. Go to the info tab and fill out as much as you like. Definitely add your website address, however, if you've got one. (Don't have one? See our WordPress Website article.) Create a Facebook Page Badge, and Fan Badge. You can use these to promote your Facebook page on other websites.
Google Buzz - Check back here for more soon. Google Buzz is a work in progress, but important, we believe. If you use Gmail, check to see whether you are signed up for it. Be sure to remove it if you do not wish to use it for the meantime.
LinkedIn
Sign up for an account and fill in as many details as you wish. Connect with people you know. The great thing about LinkedIn is it's ability to connect you with others by degrees of connection. If relevant, connect with Twitter.
Hootsuite
Sign up for an account. Click Settings / Social Networks / Add Social Networks. Add Twitter, Facebook, and any other network you wish. Automatic configurations require only a username and password. Browser Setup: in the Firefox browser, click Tools/Add-Ons and Search for "Hoot". Select Hootsuite and Add to Firefox.
There is so much more as well, but for now, be proud of yourself that now are part of the social media elite, and marketing your business with new tools that will scale indefinitely!
Extra Credit.
For driving traffic to your site, there are many more social media services, such as StumbleUpon, Delicious, or XING which is a LinkedIn competitor more popular in Europe. Stay tuned for more shortly... these categories are more specialized than the above, and will help you sort out your information more easily, and drive people to your website - all targeted to your business. If you haven't used these services yet for your business, you should get moving for more traffic to your site and to deepen the relationships you already have.
You can advertise your business cheaply on Google, which handles 80% of all search traffic globally, with Google AdWords - again, also a tool the big boys use, but instead of using their expensive keyword listings, you can find cheap keywords and limit your budget exactly to what you want to drive a reasonable level of traffic to your site - we will cover this in a future post, since it is a subject in and of itself.

Social media - Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and MySpace to grow your business using marketing guide

As I mentioned in one of my previous articles, social media has became extremely popular in recent years.

Like YouTube, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter social media sites are growing faster than any other type of social communication.

Social media is a huge untapped potential customers, potential customers and partners for your business and best of all it's free.

Therefore, in order to benefit from social media madness, you will need to know exactly how to monetize this last source untapped potential business partners.

This is exactly what I will be covering today. I would like to show you exactly what you need to do in order to generate results with sites like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and MySpace social media.

However, for more specific details of how to use each of the sites mentioned above, I would like to point out one thing. The ultimate purpose of every single social media website is relationship building. It is the sole purpose must be driven by when he joined a group on Facebook or by sending a tweet.

Building relationship is an ingredient for a successful business marketing Internet, and as soon as possible to better understand this concept.

Let's get started!

MySpace

Only a year ago, MySpace was the largest and fastest growing online with over 240 million registered users community. Now MySpace has lost its popularity with users, but has not lost with search engines.

Until today, MySpace is one of the earliest sources that Google will become when they need information. What this means is that you can use it for their benefit by creating different MySpace profiles to generate more traffic from search engine for your particular business/ROM opportunity.

Get no me wrong here, does not mean that you should use it only for that. Still have the opportunity to socialize in MySpace, very effective, but now, the main advantage of MySpace in my eyes is the SEO juice you can squeeze out of it.

Twitter

Twitter is a micro-blogging that allows users to send and read updates known as tweets and free networks social service. Tweets are posts based on text up to 140 characters in length, that are displayed in the user profile page and delivered to other users who have subscribed to them, also known as followers.

Twitter is an amazing social network really qualifies for the phrase "Social media madness". If you don't know what I mean, you only have more than four thousand followers, as I did, and you will see exactly what I mean. My Twitter home page is pure madness and socialize in Twitter without a customer no longer an option.

However, what makes also the limit of 140 characters Twitter unique is the ability to Viral Drive massive traffic to your Web site for her.

Twitter is the easiest tool to drive traffic with especially if you are running a blog or a newsletter, has an insane viral potential energy to it.

If you ever heard the expression "Word of mouth Marketing" and didn't know what means that Twitter explains it very well. Imagine if your Tweet with a link to your site is going viral. Imagine the tweet is ReTweeted around 300 times. Imagine if each of those ReTweets generates only 3-4 clicks in a moment, how much traffic you get?

This is derecho-A LOT!

YouTube

YouTube is a video that sharing website where users can upload, view and share video clips. Three former PayPal employees create YouTube in February 2005. In November 2006, YouTube was purchased by Google for the United States $ 1.65 million and is now operated as a subsidiary of Google.

YouTube, being the video larger network online is a great place to do some marketing video. But why is video marketing so damn important? Why is it so critical that you do it? Yes, that is fair! The relationship building.

Can you think of a better way to establish a relationship with a complete stranger? What can be more powerful when it comes to in-building confidence with someone online video? More impact on that person to see what you can do is move, heard speak and hear his thoughts coming out of his mouth instead of reading on your screen 15 "laptop?

If you can think of a better way to do it (addition of live chat with a webcam, of course) Please be my guest and reveal to me, because up to this day, I have not found something better and video marketing.

Facebook

A student at Harvard University originally founded Facebook with couple of his roommates for creating a unique virtual community for attendees at Harvard University. Membership Web site was initially limited but later spent other colleagues until later became Facebook available to anyone 13 years and more.

Facebook is now one of the largest communities social with more than 200 million active users. However, what makes different MySpace, Twitter and YouTube to? Why is it so essential for your social media domination plan?

Well, personally, I cannot answer this question with a specific benefit. Facebook is a great place to generate STRONG, BULLETPROOF, ROCK SOLID relationships. I have not yet found a community where people are more open and willing to socialize with complete strangers all over the planet.

For me, Facebook is like another large family. Really admire and respect for each of my Facebook friends. It is so easy to get to know people and connect with them on Facebook. It is so easy to get lost in endless chats and discussions there.

I have many of my friends, simply takes another life there! Facebook is very easy to fall with and without a doubt love leaves other social networks in the dust when it comes to the construction of a solid long-term relationship with a complete stranger.

Sharing this knowledge with you, I just want to point out once again that his main objective in any single social media site and each social community only should be first to build relationships while driving traffic and lead second generation.
